一年一度的香港影壇盛事《第三十一屆香港電影金像奬頒奬典禮》已定於二零一二年四月十五日（星期日）假座香港文化中心隆重舉行。大會於今天記者招待會上分別宣佈十九個奬項的入圍名單及本年度頒奬典禮的各大轉播媒體。
香港電影金像奬走過了三十載，今年邁進第三十一屆，協會主席陳嘉上表示很開心在過去三十年，香港電影金像奬評選出優秀傑出的香港電影。香港電影亦憑著“堅持不懈”的精神,不斷推陳出新，堅持本土元素，帶出新構思，新力量。為此電影發展基金會繼續資助今屆金像奬最佳新晉導演十萬元，表示鼓勵。
今年的同步直播傳媒機構包括電視廣播有限公司(TVB)，now TV和香港電台第二台。金像奬協會非常感謝電影發展基金為今年金像奬製作而撥出資助額五百六十六萬八千四百元。同時，大會亦都衷心感謝康樂及文化事務署提供多項場地贊助。
另外，本屆頒奬典禮的海報設計比賽結果已有分曉。經香港設計師協會主席施家禮先生專業評審之後，冠軍由明愛白英奇專業學校的黃俊賢同學獲得，而優異奬就由香港知專設計學院的董繼謙同學獲得。陳嘉上先生代表大會頒發感謝狀給香港設計師協會，亦同時感謝參加今次比賽的CO1設計學校。
陳嘉上先生透露，本年度第一輪投票已經順利完成。經會計師核實票數之後，首輪投票率達到61.63%，香港電影金像奬協會對投票成績表示滿意。
本次記招，金像奬邀請到陳芷菁小姐擔任司儀，亦榮幸邀請到以下嘉賓揭曉本屆入圍名單：
- 蘇錦樑先生 商務及經濟發展局 局長
- 劉青雲先生 第26屆香港電影金像獎最佳男主角 得獎者
- 謝霆鋒先生 第30屆香港電影金像獎最佳男主角 得獎者
One of the most prestigious annual events of Hong Kong’s film industry, “The 31st Hong Kong Film Awards Presentation Ceremony”, will be held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre on the 15th of April (Sunday), 2012. The complete list of nominations for all 19 awards, as well as this year’s official broadcasters for the ceremony, was announced today at the press conference.
The Hong Kong Film Awards has come to its 31st anniversary this year. Mr. Gordon Chan, the Chairman of the Hong Kong Film Awards Association, expressed his appreciation to the Association for recognizing excellent Hong Kong films. He also mentioned that the Hong Kong film professionals have been insisting on using local elements and making innovative films. Thus, the Film Development Fund will continue supporting the “Best New Director” with HKD $100,000 this year.
The list of this year’s live broadcasters includes: Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), now TV and RTHK Radio 2. The Association is honored to receive a sponsorship of HKD $5,668,400 from the Film Development Fund for the production of the event. The Association is also immensely grateful to the Leisure and Cultural Services Department for its contribution in various venue sponsorships.
This year’s poster design competition appreciates the jury effort of Mr. Kelly Lai from the Hong Kong Designers Association. The winner was Mr. Wong Chun Yin from Caritas Bianchi College of Careers. Mr. Tung Kai Him from Hong Kong Design Institute was awarded with the Certificate of Merit. On behalf of the Hong Kong Film Awards Association, Mr. Gordon Chan presented a certificate of appreciation to the Hong Kong Designers Association for its jury effort. Certificate was also presented to CO1 School of Visual Art respectively for its keen participation. The winning design will be used as the official promotional poster of “The 31st Hong Kong Film Awards Presentation Ceremony”.
According to Mr. Gordon Chan, result of the first round of voting has been confirmed by official auditors, the voting rate has reached 61.63%. The Hong Kong Film Awards Association is satisfied with this rate.

- Mr. Sean Lau Winner of the 26th Hong Kong Film Awards, Best Actor
